Aromatherapy

Aromatherapy is the use of essential oils to improve psychological and physical well-being by stimulating the senses. The aroma of the oils stimulates the olfactory nerves, which in turn triggers reaction in the brain. When inhaled or applied on the skin, the naturally occurring chemicals in the oils can make their way into the bloodstream. The oils can be used individually or blended together for a specific therapeutic use, for example, relaxation.

Lavender is one of the most useful and popular essential oils. It is used to relieve anxiety, promote relaxation, soothe headaches, ease sore muscles and induce sleep. Bergamot can help reduce the symptoms of depression and anxiety. Neroli can also be used to help counter the symptoms of depressions, insomnia and stress.

Essential oils can be used in a number of ways, but they
Should never be ingested. For massage, the oils must be diluted in a carrier oil such as sweet almond, grape seed or jojoba oil because they are so concentrated.

To inhale the oils, place an aromatherapy diffuser in a room or simply put a few drops on a piece of tissue paper and breathe in. If you have a bath tub at home, you can add a few drops in a basin of warm water for a foot bath
